First Wash

Washed my hair this morning,it was easier than I thought it would be. I guess I had thought that having to separate the locks would have taken so much more time. Love the locks and how they look. my girls had to get in the pics...lol

Moving Forward

So my locs are almost two weeks old. I have not washed them but plan to do so this weekend. I am looking forward to see the transformation as a result from the wash. So far, so good...I am enjoying the basic maintenance that my locs require. The water spritz styling is going well and I am getting better at it.

After being abusive to my hair for the past three years by over indulging in net weaves, my once very thick and healthy hair has dissipated to maybe two thirds of what it used to be. I have areas of balding due to the pulling from those styles. Its pretty sad and now when I look at my sistas rocking the weaves, I wonder if they realize how much damage they are inflicting on their natural "glory". I am praying that the damage is reversible and also have a plan to nurture my hair back to health. I have been taking hair vitamins for the past month or so and think that I see a difference. It seems that my hairline is starting to grow in so I am going to continue working on my diet, exercise and take my vitamins.

First Week of my Sisterlocks

I am loving my locks. I contemplated washing them this week but decided to wait another week. They seem to be a little more relaxed and I a getting the hang of finger styling with a spritz of water...love this drama free hair what a blessing!!!

Pictures of my new locks!

I had a chance to upload some pictures from the install. I started with 3 - 3.5 inches of new growth. My consultant assured me that everyone starts off with the spaces at the beginning regardless of hair length due to the grids. When I wash my hair, I plan to count my locks but I am guessing that I have 300+. Will definately keep you informed.

Its official...installed today

My installation started yesterday morning and was officially completed today. It took 13 hours versus the 16 hours my consultant anticipated. I am thrilled with the results..my consultant is very conscientious and meticulous about her work. I am very happy to say the least and will share my progress with you as time goes along. I really like the bantu knots as the locks are brand new, wiry and not the easiest to style when they are brand new. Nevertheless, they are so beautiful and I can't stop touching them. I am looking forward to my new journey.
